The Jim Hutton Education Foundation is offering low-interest loans to students who are pursuing careers in nursing.  Eligible degree programs include an associate degree in nursing, a bachelor of science in nursing, a master of science in nursing, and doctoral nursing programs.  Applicants must be residents of Kit Carson or Yuma County to qualify.

The Jim Hutton Foundation is offering a 3% interest rate for student loans.  This is about half of the interest charged for federal student loan programs.  A maximum of $60,000 may be approved for tuition and books for qualified applicants.  Loan applicants are now required to submit an acceptance letter from their nursing programs prior to loan approval.
